![]() ![]() It would require a gargantuan investment of willpower from a large ring of demons and then the weapons would just break down fairly quickly with no realistic means of keeping them all fueled with Aether. Under the current rules you could have a small hoard of cultists all armed with powerful Exploited Gadgets. ![]() Again, the difference between Embedded and Exploited is because of balancing issues. WW/OPP has been glossing over this thing for a long time now. Looking at all the other game lines this has been a consistent balancing issue for a long time, which is why it doesn't get explained on a metaphysical level. I'm not even sure I am entirely comfortable with that (as the only gadget that has been made was Exploited and I believe that might be worth the final cost of 1 willpower = 1 experience.) Like StSword said: the cost is there for game play balance reasons. I'm not even sure I am entirely comfortable with that (as the only gadget that has been made was Exploited and I believe that might be worth the final cost of 1 willpower = 1 experience.)Īny thoughts? At current I've house-ruled that it was the expenditure of a willpower point. Granted it is now portable and reliable (and in the case of an Exploited Gadget it is no longer a compromise roll) but that only seems to be a "good deal" with Exploited gadgets, and very hit-and-miss with Embedded gadgets (as they offer very little risk in their use already).Īny thoughts? At current I've house-ruled that it was the expenditure of a willpower point. This seems awkward when you're getting a lesser form of an ability that you already possess. ![]() RAW it seems to suggest that all gadgets cost the expenditure of a willpower dot (which the player will then have to restore with 1 experience). However the book goes into far greater depth with the concept of spending a willpower dot here.Īnother problem is that the creation of a gadget costing a willpower dot doesn't seem to differentiate between Embedded or Exploited gadgets. Should he fail to do so, the Installed power will wither away, vanishing by the end of the scene." This would be simple enough if not for the fact that on the later pages under pacts, that a Soul Pact requires a willpower dot expenditure also. the creator must expend a dot of Willpower to cement the gadget into reality. In the Demon: The Descent book it states that, ". My players noticed something a little bit off about creating gadgets. ![]()
